So near and yet so far...

The first thing to strike you about SIERRA BLANCA COUNTRY CLUB is its perfect location.  Although it is barely 15 minutes from the international resort and marina of Puerto Banus and 20 minutes from Marbella’s elegant Plaza de los Naranjos, in atmosphere it is a world away.  4 miles from the charming, old world Spanish village of Istan, it sits on the southern slope of La Concha, overlooking the lake of La Concepcion, and surrounded by the Unesco natural reserve of Sierra de las Nieves, which was created to recognise the special biodiversity of the area and its clean, healthy environment. At SIERRA BLANCA COUNTRY CLUB, nature is never very far away – goats on their way back to their fold for the evening wander through, birds on migration swoop up the valley, and families of the rare mountain goat appear fleetingly as you walk through the surrounding mountains.

Inevitably, SIERRA BLANCA COUNTRY CLUB is exclusive.  Its 252,000 m2, which contains a mixture of plots with building licences for individual tailor-made villas, completed villas ( a few of which at any time may be for sale), a smaller number of townhouses, luxury apartments, and even a soon-to-be-completed 5 star Apart Hotel, with suites, apartments and a separate business centre.

Its location means that all the homes enjoy spectacular and unobstructed views over the lake, and to Marbella, Puerto Banus, the Mediterranean and Gibraltar, with rolling hills on either side. At night you can watch the lights gradually coming on in North Africa, and during the day you can see the great Atlas mountains of Morocco rising to the east of Gibraltar.

SIERRA BLANCA COUNTRY CLUB complies with the strict building regulations based on the general ordinance plan of 1986, and its permits have been granted by Istan, and not by Marbella.

This part of Spain is, of course, famous for its golf courses, tennis clubs and marinas, but in addition it has every sort of outdoor sports facility to take advantage of the continuous sunshine, including water sports, riding trails, rosemary-scented footpaths for ramblers, and fishing in lake. Every type of shopping is available, from the weekly markets in the streets leading down to Puerto Banus and in the local towns of Istan and San Pedro, through out of town shopping centres such as La Canada, through to the sophisticated international designer labels of Marbella.  Health care here is world class, and there are excellent local and international schools and kindergartens.

The restaurants reflect the cosmopolitan nature of their guests, with everything from Michelin starred chefs to local rustic restaurants filled with Spanish families.  Puerto Banus and Marbella are famed for their night life, and days can be spent lazing by your own pool or enjoying the renowned local beaches.

Getting here is easy – because Malaga airport is only 30 minutes away, and Gibraltar 40 minutes, you can leave your home or office in England in the afternoon and be here for a late, lazy dinner.  And the rest of Andalucia is on your doorstep – you can be skiing in Granada’s Sierra Nevada within 2 hours, or enjoying flamenco in Seville in even less time. Even Madrid is only 3 hours away, and North Africa is just a short ferry ride.

Directions: coming from Malaga on the A7 toll road, take exit 176 signposted Istan, and within 5 miles you’re home.
